Welcome to Crufts 2014

Calling all dog lovers! One of the largest shows for dog lovers is here and we hope you are looking forward to it like we are!

This week the NEC arena in Birmingham will become the canine capital, where thousands of visitors and enthusiasts will congregate to share their knowledge and love for dogs. From textbook pedigrees to the most endangered of species, you will find a plethora of inside information from dog lovers and a host of exciting events.

Launched in 1891, the show was designed to celebrate the unique relationship shared between owners and dogs. For prospective dog owners and dog lovers, Crufts is a prime opportunity to talk to Kennel Club Assured Breeders, rescue charities and breed experts about how to responsibly buy, train and enjoy life with your dog. The show has evolved with time and the primary focus is no longer surrounding the activities aspect but a whole haven for dog-lovers around the globe. For prospective dog owners and dog lovers, Crufts is a prime opportunity to talk to breeders, rescue charities and breed experts about how to responsibly buy, train and enjoy life with your dog.

This year’s event takes place at the Birmingham NEC and adult ticket prices start from just £16.50, which you can purchase from the official Crufts website. Here is how the show days look…

·         March 6th 2014 - Working and Pastoral breed showing.

·         March 7th 2014 - Terrier and Hound Groups breed showing.

·         March 8th 2014 - Toy and Utility Groups breed showing.

·         March 9th 2014 - Gundog Group breed showing and Best in Show.

The show opening times are from 8.15 - 19.30

Aforementioned there is something for every dog lover to enjoy at this year’s show including,

·         22,000 dogs competing for the world class title of Crufts Best In Show

·         The Arena showcasing fantastic displays and competitions

·         Discover Dogs area, with over 200 pedigree breeds to meet

·         Good Citizen Dog Scheme training ring, the UK’s largest dog training programme

·         Dog Activities Ring, where you can learn how to unleash your dog’s potential

·         The Young Kennel Club ring

·         Breed Rescue stands

·         Over 400 trade stands with special show offers and exciting new products for you and your best friend!


Discover Dogs at Crufts 2014

Located in hall 3 of the NEC, you’ll find the Discover Dogs area. If you love dogs, and long to own one (maybe more!) but can’t decide, then this is the place for you. There will be over 200 breeds of pedigree on show at this year’s Crufts for you to meet and talk directly to their owners and breeders. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable advice on grooming and training. What a fantastic way to find your perfect companion…

Kids at Crufts 2014

This year as always, there will be excellent events for kids at Crufts, helping to introduce them to the wonderful world of dogs and under 12’s now get free entry*. Some of the events include the International Junior Handling Competition and the Young Kennel Club’s Groomer of the year award. Supported by many, this is a fabulous arena in which those wishing to become involved with the grooming and health of your dog from a young age can do just that. 

Best in Show at Crufts 2014

The most prestigious prize in the dog training calendar is the Best in Show award at Crufts and this will take place on Sunday 9 March 2014 and will include the following events:

·         Best In Show, watch the moment of the Crufts Best In Show 2014’s crowning glory

·         Friends for Life, which rewards the nation’s unsung dog heroes

·         Agility Championships Final

·         Working and Pastoral Group Judging

·         Young Kennel Club Stakes Final

·         An unforgettable Heelwork to Music performance

·         The Fanfare from the Royal Marines

The spectacle that is Crufts is now available on the ‘dog and bone’ too! The Crufts app has been updated for Crufts 2014, to give you all the latest dog news and updates throughout the show, with updates directly to your iPhone or Android device.
